It’s the Hoppiest Time of the Year! Just Ask the Easter Bunny!
The Easter bunny is soooo excited!
I mean, really, can you blame the cutest, most loved bunny on earth?
A day of bunny-themed festivities awaits! Dying Easter eggs, baskets brimming with goodies galore, Easter egg hunts … and of course, the yummiest of dinners.
Our favorite bunny arrives on the stunning Central Coast, rain or shine, on March 31st. While our early spring weather is often unpredictable, one thing is certain–we have a fun-filled slate of inexpensive family-friendly activities that can be played both indoors and outdoors that are guaranteed to keep even the littlest of bunnies entertained.
You may already have some items in storage, including plastic Easter eggs and bunny ear headbands. If not, check out your local discount stores.
For starters, let’s put a little spin on tradition. How about a scavenger hunt rather than an Easter Egg hunt? Well, it’s actually a little bit of both–the clues are hidden inside the plastic eggs, guiding your baby bunnies to a special prize.
Next up, a game of “chickers.” Grab the checkerboard, only this version enlists Peeps as the game pieces. Careful though–there might not be any game pieces left by the end of the game. Gee, I wonder where they could have disappeared to.
Don’t forget about the bean bag toss! For a gentler indoor take, grab a piece of cardboard and draw a large bunny. Decorate it to your heart’s content and cut holes in the cardboard wherever you’d like. Those empty, lightweight plastic eggs are perfect replacements for bean bags. This can also be done in cornhole fashion or hanging it upright on a rod or something similar. Your wish is your desire.
For a super easy game with items you likely already have on hand, call on some good old-fashioned vibes with a spoon race. All you need are spoons and plastic eggs!
Our next activity will surely bring the laughs! Time to nab those adorable bunny ear headbands from storage. Or, if you’re feeling crafty, tear off some foil and scrunch it in the shape of bunny ear headbands with the ears sticking up. Then, make a handful of cardboard or foil rings (the kind you toss, not wear). Half of the players take turns wearing the headbands while the others try to score points by successfully tossing the rings onto the rabbit ears.
These are just a few of the many Easter activities that you and your fam can enjoy both inside and outside. Having a few magical tricks up your sleeve will ensure that you all have a joyful day, regardless of Mother Nature!
So, hop to it and gather up the goods. The Easter Bunny will pounce before you know it. Here’s to an extraordinary celebration!
